A WALK ALONG THE LOVELY CARRON GLEN NEAR DENNY

This walk mainly follows the River Carron and can be started at either Dunipace or Fankerton. It passes through the beautiful, steep-sided gorge that is Carron Glen, 19ha of which are now owned as a nature reserve by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. It was gifted to the SWT in 1996 by Mr D. Forbes, of the Callendar Estate, to become the Trust’s 100th wildlife reserve. The Carron Glen reserve is a site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), so please respect this habitat and do not damage or pick the wildflowers growing there.

The Main Walk (NS806831) is 9 km in length with the last part of the walk back to Dunipace being along a quiet country lane.

The Short Walk (NS788831) is 4.5 km in length.
