In conservation work it is always helpful to learn new skills, be it species identification, surveying and handling licences, or habitat management techniques. Occasionally we organise such events and more often can link you up with people/organisations that do. We post some of those opportunities below.
The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland offer courses on plant identification. Click here for more information.
Amongst other things Plantlife operates a Plant Monitoring Scheme on various events throughout the year including training days and workshops. Click here to find out more. Plantlife Scotland can be found here.
The Field Studies Council also offer courses on plant identification as well as on of birds, mammals, butterflies and moths, reptiles and amphibians, etc. Click here for how to find out more.
Every year naturalists come together and meet to discuss new science and current issues. We will also post such events in the calendar below.
